The implementation of the EHIS and the survey is expected in the fourth quarter of this year, with the technical and informational support of TAIEX. The National Bureau of Statistics is now familiarizing itself with the European methodology of conducting population health survey at national level with the help of Romanian colleagues.
EHIS is an information system that allows to automatically monitor, process and analyze data on morbidity, mortality, disability, as well as other indicators characterizing the health of the population and to assess the effectiveness of health services.
The content of the survey will be developed additionally. It usually includes medical and demographic indicators (birth rate, mortality, natural increase, life expectancy), morbidity indicators (prevalence of various diseases, frequency of new cases). disability indicators (level of disability and disability of the population), physical development indicators (average height, weight, other anthropometric indicators).
