Georgia has introduced new rules for transport inspection

The National Road Transport Agency of Moldova informs operators of international road transportation about the entry into force of legislative changes on the territory of Georgia concerning the rules of road checks, - reports Logos Press.

Georgia has introduced new rules for transport inspection

The new rules apply to categories of vehicles used in the international transportation of goods and passengers from July 1, 2025.

The main areas covered by the inspection include: compliance with the rules for the transportation of dangerous goods, driving and rest regime of drivers, including the correct use of tachograph and digital driver card, weight and size limits of vehicles.

Additional controls also include the technical condition of vehicles in accordance with applicable standards; proper securing of cargo in the vehicle; use of valid permits for the transportation of passengers and cargo; and proper installation, calibration and use of tachographs and speed limiters.

The purpose of these measures is to improve road safety, strengthen the enforcement of existing regulations and optimize traffic control activities carried out on the territory of Georgia.

ANTA recommends transport operators to ensure that vehicles and transport documents comply with the applicable requirements before starting operations on the territory of Georgia in order to avoid possible sanctions.
