AutoWallis Caetano became the official distributor of Nissan in Moldova

A joint venture AutoWallis Caetano has already been established, which has obtained the rights to distribute Nissan in Romania and Moldova. Both partners have a 50% stake in this company.

Sales began on June 17. In addition to Nissan’s existing passenger car lineup, the joint venture will also introduce Nissan’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) lineup – Nissan Townstar, Nissan Primastar and Nissan Interstar – in both markets. AutoWallis Caetano will launch the all-electric Nissan Micra for customers in Romania and Moldova in the fall of 2025, followed by the introduction of the new Nissan Leaf in early 2026.

This creates an interesting situation, as Nissan cars in Moldova have been sold by the DAAC Hermes group since 2002. If the new company will work only in the wholesale segment, nothing will change for Moldovan buyers. And in case AutoWallis Caetano decides to open a retail representative office in our country, we can expect that the competition between the two companies will lead to lower prices and better services for consumers.

It should be noted that in 2024, 143 new Nissan cars were sold in Moldova.
