Tennis player Ilya Snitsar played in the final of the tournament in Cluj-Napoca

Moldovan tennis player Ilija Snitari paired with the representative of Bulgaria Samuel Conov reached the final of the ITF series tournament, which ended in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), - reports Logos Press.

The final meeting, in which Snitar and Konov faced the hosts Ioan Alexandru Chirica and Radu Mihai Papoe, ended with the score 7:5, 6:2 in favor of the Romanian tennis players. The match lasted just over an hour and a half.

At the same tournament, the 23-year-old Moldovan played singles, but was eliminated at the quarterfinal stage. Snitsar lost the fight to Russian tennis player Kirill Kivattsev, who played under a neutral flag, 6:7 (1:7), 6:7 (1:7). The meeting lasted almost three hours.

The prize fund of the tournament in Cluj-Napoca amounted to €15,000. The organizers did not disclose the amount of prize money for the participants of the various stages of the tournament.

Ilya Snitsar is ranked 673rd in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals. The best result in his career he demonstrated on April 17, 2023, when he rose to 332nd line of the world ranking. The athlete is regularly called up to the Moldovan national team to participate in the Davis Cup.
