In the title fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) youth version of the world champion in the first middleweight (up to 69.8 kg) 23-year-old Vasyl Chebotar defeated the representative of Ukraine, the world champion under the version of the International Boxing Organization (UBO) Nazri Rahimov by unanimous decision of judges.
The Moldovan boxer has 18 victories in his career after the title won in Ukraine, eight of them by knockout, and no losses. Rahimov won 14 fights (eight of them by knockout) and suffered five defeats.
Chebotar made his professional ring debut in 2019. He is a native of Tiraspol, master of sports international class, bronze medalist of the European Championship.
The WBC world champion belt is considered one of the most prestigious in the world of boxing. This is due to the fact that the World Boxing Council is the most respected and one of the oldest organizations holding title fights.
