
About one third of the funds were provided by external partners, while 18 million lei were allocated to support entrepreneurs from the state budget. The European Union’s contribution amounted to 9.5 million lei, and the World Bank allocated almost 1 million lei.
These companies employ 674 people. The financial assistance directed to them will allow creating about 400 new jobs. At the same time, the beneficiaries themselves will invest about 57 million lei. The funds will be used for the purchase of modern equipment, digitalization of processes and consulting services.
The head of the ODA, Vadim Codreanu, told Logos Press that part of the grants was given to companies from the tourism and HoReCa sectors. The money was distributed within the framework of the renewed program of support for these areas. The program had been inactive for some time due to the lack of funds. Codreanu assured that the authorities plan to replenish this year’s grant budget with additional funds. The amount is not yet known and depends on the number of requested funds and the decision of the Ministry of Finance.
Out of the total number of grants received, 21 companies have signed contracts under the “Tourism” program, 30 under the “Women’s Entrepreneurship” program, 14 companies will be supported under the “Youth Start” and 8 under the “Re-technology” program. Another 14 companies will be funded under the PARE 1+2 and Greening schemes, and two will receive grants under the Competitiveness program.
In total, 220 Moldovan companies have received grants worth 97 million lei since the beginning of this year. Thanks to this, more than 189 million lei will be invested in the Moldovan economy. Of these, 162 companies are financed from the state budget, 54 receive financial support from the European Union within the project “EU for SMEs”, and four companies were financed by the World Bank.
