The event was held as part of the project “Enhancing the Operational and Training Capabilities of the Border Police to Strengthen Border Control in the Republic of Moldova,” funded by the U.S. government and implemented with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

During the mission, the operational processes, tools, and infrastructure used by the border police were assessed, and working meetings were held with border police units.

The purpose of the assessment is to identify needs and areas for development in the field of biometric information management that will contribute to the modernization of border control, enhance security, and optimize verification processes for safer and more effective control of persons crossing the state border.
