Following the auction rounds that began on July 16, the company organized new procedures to build the gas portfolio needed for the heating season.

Over the past week, Energocom JSC held nine rounds of auctions for quarterly and monthly standardized energy products. The auctions were conducted in accordance with the natural gas procurement procedure approved by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

In this context, the following standardized energy products were offered for purchase:

– two lots for the fourth quarter of 2026, covering the period from October to December 2026, with a volume of up to 276,000 MWh per quarter;

– three lots for the first quarter of 2027, covering the period January–March 2027, with a volume of up to 270,000 MWh per quarter;

And four monthly products for the following periods:

  • November 2026 – 150,000 MWh;
  • December 2026 – 155,000 MWh;
  • January 2027 – 108,500 MWh;
  • February 2027 – 98,000 MWh.

Purchases are made under forward contracts based on a pricing formula linked to the TTF Front Month index, according to quotes published by Argus Media on the last day of the month preceding the delivery month.

Thus, the preliminary conclusion of contracts guarantees the volumes required for the delivery period, while the final price is updated monthly to reflect conditions and trends in regional natural gas markets.

The procurement process is ongoing, and the company will continue to organize new rounds of auctions depending on gas demand, the approved strategy, and market conditions.

The process of concluding contracts for gas volumes for the 2026–2027 gas year will continue until the end of October. Full details on the contracts concluded will be provided once the procurement process is complete.

As a reminder, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) is currently considering a proposal to raise the gas tariff to 20.30 lei due to rising prices on global markets. Meanwhile, Energy Minister Dorin Junghiu has proposed that the tariff be reviewed every three months based on the prices at which natural gas was purchased.
