According to the city administration, construction is currently underway on the buildings that will serve the new complex, including an administrative building, sorting station facilities, a transshipment station, a car wash, and a repair shop.

At the same time, scales for special-purpose vehicles, fire protection tanks, and utility networks are being installed to ensure the facility’s full operation.

Once construction of the sorting station workshop is complete, a modern sorting line—which has already been manufactured and is ready for transport to Chisinau—will be delivered and installed.

The new transfer station with a waste sorting line is one of the most significant investment projects in the field of municipal solid waste management infrastructure ever implemented in Chisinau.

The project is part of the second phase of the municipal “Chisinau Solid Waste” project, and the investment in Lot II exceeds 8 million euros.

The total project budget is approximately 26 million euros. Funding is provided by the Chisinau City Hall (2.8 million euros), the EBRD (€9 million), the EIB through the Ministry of Finance (€9 million), and the Eastern European Partnership Fund for Energy Efficiency and the Environment (E5P) (€5 million, grant).
