
This is evidenced by the annual analysis of the consulting company Forvis Mazars, which compares the tax systems of 22 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
According to the Czech Statistical Office (CSO), last year the average salary in the Czech Republic amounted to 49,215 crowns, up 7.2% year-on-year. The ČSU will publish data on wage trends in the first quarter of this year on Thursday.
According to Forvis Mazars analysis, the Czech Republic, together with Hungary, showed the fastest wage growth in the V4 countries this year. In Hungary, average wages in the private sector also rose by nine percent to 1,948 euros. The highest salaries in the V4 countries, as in the previous year, are observed in Poland: in year-on-year terms, they increased by eight percent to 2156 euros, writes 420on. In Slovakia, the average salary is 1,569 euros, up three percent year-on-year.
Of the neighboring countries, the highest salaries are received by residents of Austria – this year an average of 5497 euros. In Germany, the average salary this year increased by 3% to 4784 euros. The minimum wage in these countries is higher than the average wage in the Czech Republic, hovering around 2,400 euros.
