On her way to the final, 23-year-old Irina Ryngach defeated Eniko Elekes (Hungary) and Ukraine’s Irina Kolyadenko. She was defeated in the final fight with Grace Bullen from Norway. The Moldovan athlete reached the podium of the European Olympic Wrestling Championships for the 5th time in a row.
Irina Ryngach is the 2021 World Champion, two-time European Champion (2021, 2022), twice became European Vice-Champion (2023, 2025) and won bronze medals at the World Championships (2022) and European Championships (2024).
Mariana Dragutsan, who was the vice-champion of the European Youth Championships in March, won a bronze medal in the senior competition. She defeated Amory Andrich (Germany) and Rosa Szentamasi (Hungary). In the semifinals she was defeated by France’s Tatiana Debienne.
Last year Dragutsan won the silver medal at the World Championships, she is also a bronze medalist at the World Championships (2023) and European Championships (2022).
The European Olympic Wrestling Championships were held in Bratislava (Slovakia) from April 7 to 13.
