After the theft of data from the Center of Registers became known, Conservative Party leader Laurynas Kasciunas on Sunday evening gave details.
“According to the investigation launched, these connections were made not only from abroad, but also using the systems of other Lithuanian institutions,” Lithuanian portal Delfi.lt quoted the politician as saying. – The media are already reporting that this was done through the system of the Migration Department under the Interior Ministry, and from there requests were made to the Registry Center. This is a threat to the national security of Lithuania.
According to him, data on Lithuanian intelligence officers, officers, politicians and employees may have been stolen during the operation.
“The operation could have been carried out by the cyberattack departments of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (GRU). This is the Russian Defense Ministry’s intelligence (…),” Laurynas Kasciunas said.
According to him, there is a high probability that detailed data on intelligence officers and officers could be made public on the Internet as “blacklists”.
He also noted that the GRU collects information on strategically important persons and facilities abroad. This data could be used in the first hours of a war or a mass hybrid attack.
