First, 118.163 million lei were allocated to local self-government bodies for urgent expenses in March. In particular, in Cantemir district, the local authorities from the villages of Stoianovca and Cania received financial assistance. The funds were used to eliminate the consequences of heavy rains on September 14, 2024. The village councils from Larguta, Ciganca and Pleseni villages received assistance from the government’s intervention fund to repair damaged public roads.
Also, funds have been allocated to local authorities of the first level in the districts of Hincesti, Ialoveni, Floresti, Rezina, Straseni, Teleneşti and Leova. Tomai rural council (Leova district) received money to repair the roof of the pre-school educational institution “Faguras”.
Leova district has been allocated the most funds for urgent expenses since the beginning of this year – 75.404 million lei and Ialoveni – 16.413 million lei.
Second, in January 2025, 60.5 million lei was transferred to manage the energy crisis. According to the Ministry of Finance, 60 million lei was received by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. They were used to compensate for the difference in electricity supply prices.
The remaining 0.5 million lei were given to local authorities in the security zone (in the villages of Varnita, Firladeni, Cocieri, Molovata Noue, Dorotcaia). The funds were intended to ensure the continuous functioning of institutions and public services at risk of electricity and natural gas supply interruption.
The Government Intervention Fund is intended to finance urgent expenses related to the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters, as well as in case of epidemics, other emergencies of man-made, natural and socio-biological nature.
