The program provides direct support to households in the Republic of Moldova to reduce energy consumption and modernize household appliances.

EcoVoucher remains an important tool to support families by offering vouchers worth 6,000 lei for the purchase of energy efficient household appliances – refrigerators and washing machines that meet energy efficiency standards and European Conformity Standard (CE).

This time, about 1,160 families – with minor children, elderly people over 63 years old and people with severe disabilities – will benefit from the program.

Recipients will be able to use the vouchers during the active period of the program. They cover up to 70% of the cost of household appliances (but not more than the value of the voucher) for the purchase of energy efficient refrigerators (including refrigerators with built-in freezers) and washing machines. Each appliance purchased under the program must meet energy efficiency criteria and European Conformity Standards (CE). In order to use the voucher, recipients will have to turn in used appliances of the same type.

The results of the EcoVoucher program confirm the positive effect of the implemented measures. Recipients report significant savings on their monthly bills, increased comfort in their homes and a growing interest in energy efficient appliances.

Since the launch of the program, 41,645 families in the Republic of Moldova have benefited from vouchers for the purchase of large household appliances.

In 2026, the Ecovoucher program is financed by the European Union with an estimated budget of €1 million under the project “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in the Republic of Moldova” (E4M), implemented by GIZ.

To participate in the program it is necessary to be registered in the Energy Vulnerability Information System.
