A number of online booking services in Sofia are recording increased demand for the dates of the competition, with some accommodation facilities already displaying limited availability for the period of May 2027.
Major hotel chains have not yet opened room sales for this period, awaiting the official approval of the host city and the regulations of the event.
Some market participants note that the initial surge in bookings is of a “panic” nature and is connected with expectations of accommodation shortage in the capital.
According to Novinite.com estimates, the main demand is concentrated in Sofia, the city with the largest number of rooms and infrastructure for mass events.
At the same time, the real estate market has a risk of overheating of rent in the central districts of the capital during the contest period.
A possible redistribution of tourist flow to the regions, including Black Sea coast resorts and mountainous areas, is also being discussed, but specific accommodation schemes have not yet been approved.
According to experts, the Eurovision triumph has already brought enormous dividends to Bulgaria.
Thus, the international advertising value of mentioning Bulgaria in the world media exceeded 500 million euros. For comparison, the annual advertising budget of the entire Ministry of Tourism of the country is a modest 10 million euros.
As for the inflow of tourists, 50 thousand to 60 thousand foreign guests are expected to arrive in the week of the contest, and the total wave of travelers can be measured in hundreds of thousands.
