The agreement provides for sponsorship of events held under the auspices of the NOSC, joint campaigns to promote active lifestyles and sports, and the implementation of advertising and image projects.
Before signing the agreement, the President of the NOSC, Nicolae Juravschi, and the General Director of BOMBA, Mircea Baciu, had an in-depth discussion on the development of Moldovan sport, the successes of Moldovan Olympians and the role of big business in supporting the Olympic and sports movement in the country.
Nicolae Juravschi informed in detail about the Moldovan sportsmen’s achievements at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, which were the most “fruitful” in terms of the number of medals won for Moldovan sports. Four medals were won – one silver and three bronze. This is the best result since the independence of the Republic of Moldova and the performance under the national flag.
“Moldovan sport at the Olympics in Paris was represented by 26 athletes, and the 4 medals won by them is a very worthy result,” Nicolae Juravschi said. – This shows the potential and competitiveness of our sport. The support of big business is an important component of these victories and medals. It is necessary to create good conditions for athletes to train and participate in international starts, to stimulate their development. We are very happy that BOMBA shares our values and is ready to support Moldovan sport for the next four-year Olympic cycle”.
Mircea Baciu said that his companies also practice an active lifestyle and constant improvement. And there is a certain correlation with sport in this. Besides, one of the best sportsmen from Moldova, multiple winner and medalist of the Olympic Games, World and European Canoeing Championships, Serghei Tarnovski is the “face” of BOMBA company, promoting not only its products, but also active lifestyle and aspiration to achieve goals.
The President of the NOSC invited the representatives of the partner company to participate in the competitions for labor collectives, “Olympic lessons” for schoolchildren and other events held under the auspices of the Olympic and Sports Committee. In turn, Mircea Baciu told about the company’s plans to participate in socially significant projects and also invited NOSC to join the planned actions.
A few days after the signing of the agreement, on April 23, BOMBA employees and family members planted an alley of Japanese sakura trees in the Central Park of Chisinau behind the Cathedral. The action was carried out within the framework of the initiative of the capital authorities “Plant your own tree!”. BOMBA employees were joined by athletes led by Serghei Tarnovski.
After the signing ceremony of the agreement with BOMBA company, the president of NOSC, Nicolae Juravschi, said for Logos Press that the partnership will allow Moldovan athletes to prepare better and take a worthy part in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy and the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.
– We are grateful to BOMBA for supporting the Olympic and sports movement in the country for the next four-year Olympic term,” Nicolae Juravschi said. – We hope that the example of this company will be followed by other Moldovan business representatives. It is very important when a company, which holds a leading position on the market, thinks not only about the development of its business, but also about the country, sport and society. Such partnership is an international practice. And it is very significant for us that Moldovan business is in line with these global trends.
BOMBA General Director Mircea Baciu emphasized that the partnership with NOSC did not arise out of nothing. “It is a natural mission for us, because we always promote a healthy lifestyle and support our athletes,” he said. – We want young people to see BOMBA not just as a chain of stores, but as an incentive to play sports. We believe in the potential of our athletes and want as many people as possible to know about their successes. We want the Moldovan flag to be raised as often as possible at international competitions, and especially at the Olympic Games. And every citizen of the country would be proud of it”.
