Water supply and sewerage networks are being developed in Moldova, but they are still insufficient

In 2025, 1055 settlements in Moldova will have access to centralized water supply systems, which is 69.1% of the total number of towns and villages in the country, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Compared to 2024, the number of settlements with access to centralized water supply systems increased by 3.5%.

The total length of public water supply networks amounted to 22.4 thousand km, which is 3.3% more compared to 2024.

Access to centralized sewerage systems was provided by 55 municipalities and towns and 109 rural settlements, which is 10.7% of the total number of settlements.

Compared to 2024, the number of settlements with access to centralized sewerage systems increased by 5.8% in 2025.

The total length of public sewerage networks amounted to 5.9 thousand kilometers, which is 2.2% more compared to 2024.
