The contest will be opened by the Republic of Moldova and Satoshi will be the first to take the stage with the song “Viva Moldova”.
The performer will open the show at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna.
“Thanks to his talent, energy and sincerity, the young artist carries the name of the Republic of Moldova on the Eurovision stage in front of millions of people around the world. “Long live Moldova!” – is a state of mind and an invitation to believe in yourself. We are holding our fists for you, Vlad! And to all Moldovans at home and in the diaspora – let’s unite and support Moldova tonight,” Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu said.
“Our performer is very popular, he is a young man who not only represents the culture and music created in our country, but also personifies our identity and European values,” Moldovan Ambassador to Austria Victoria Rocha said, who also specified that this year’s contest is held in conditions of maximum security.
The official opening of the contest took place on Sunday evening, while two semi-finals are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday at 22:00, as well as the final on Saturday, also at 22:00.
In 2026, Eurovision will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its first edition, and Moldova will take part in it for the 20th time.
