Renato Usatii, chairman of Our Party, when asked by a TV8 presenter about a probable government crisis. He specified that “this is absolutely true”: “I even saw Igor Dodon talking about a vote of no confidence. Igor Niсolaevich, there is no need to organize any vote of no confidence in the government – the Munteanu government is resigning. Now it will collect some more joints and, I think, he will be sent home in May or June at the most.

The leader of the parliamentary faction “Democrația Acasă” Vasile Costiuc also spoke about the possible resignation of Alexandru Munteanu on the Mlive Youtube channel.

PSRM leader Igor Dodon said at a press conference that in a few weeks the party will propose to its colleagues to sign a vote of no confidence in the government headed by Alexandru Munteanu.

“In this session, we plan to put forward votes of no confidence in a number of ministers. This week, the Minister of Agriculture will come to Parliament with a report at the general request of the opposition. Let the energy minister and others prepare – we will summon them too. In the coming weeks, we will also propose to our colleagues from other factions to initiate a joint vote of no confidence in the entire government of Munteanu, as it has failed to cope with the crisis in the country and has not met the expectations of citizens,” Dodon said.

No hope for success

It should be noted that any attempt to put forward a vote of no confidence in the government is doomed to failure, as it requires a majority vote of MPs to pass it and dissolve the government. It should be recalled that PAS has 55 deputies in Parliament.

The government of Alexandru Munteanu took the oath of office on November 1, 2025. As 100 days from the inauguration date are approaching, former Prime Minister Vlad Filat made a public appeal to Alexandru Munteanu to make “an adult and responsible decision: either to fully assume the role and govern effectively, or to take a step back and leave the post”.

PAS leader, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, responding to reporters’ questions on Tuesday after a parliamentary session, rejected the scenario of a government crisis: “Who is saying this? People are too rested after vacation, they have a lot of energy and space for ingenuity. Everyone to work!”, Igor Grosu said.

Alexandru Munteanu himself has not yet commented on the statements about a possible governmental crisis.
