The Ministry of Environment specifies that clothes will be sorted by fiber and material type, then reused or recycled into new products – textile garments or bags. And waste that is not recyclable will be able to be used to produce clean energy.
These issues were discussed during the public consultation on the draft Regulations on the Management of Textile Products and Textile Waste, a document aimed at reducing pollution and introducing a modern system for collecting and recycling clothing.
At the same time, the involvement of local producers in the production of better quality, durable and recyclable textile products was discussed in order to reduce the environmental impact in the long term.
Currently, the volume of textile waste is constantly increasing and in the absence of a collection system, much of the clothing ends up in landfills, polluting the environment and causing economic losses. A new initiative proposes the collection, sorting and recycling of such waste.
