The post-war reconstruction process will be long-term and will require regional coordination, clear rules and well-functioning institutions. The framework will strengthen economic cooperation among the three states.
The initiative already enjoys the support of more than 250 institutions and organizations from the three countries and was included in the strategy paper of the Alliance of MEPs from Eastern Europe on the reconstruction of Ukraine. It responds to a real need for organization and coherence in the current regional context. Therefore, the establishment of the Tripartite Chamber of Commerce and Industry went beyond intentions.
The Tripartite Chamber of Commerce and Industry is seen as a crucial instrument that can link political vision with economic reality and contribute to the stability of the region.
The new chamber will create a common institutional platform through which companies from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and EU member states will be able to form public-private partnerships and consortia for cross-border projects. These projects will be aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, the economy and Ukrainian communities affected by the war.
The proposal for a trilateral chamber of commerce and industry was put forward by the Institute for Development and Project Expertise Moldova during a conference held on June 4, 2025 at the European Parliament and was included in the strategy paper of the Alliance of MEPs from Eastern Europe for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
