The aim of the initiative is to create a more competitive and transparent business environment in the SME segment.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation signed on January 16, 2026 an Agreement on the implementation of the project “Building Trust, Integrity and Compliance within SMEs and between SMEs and the Public Sector in Moldova (STIC)”.
The total budget of the project is CHF 3.92 million (over MDL 80 million). The initiative will support SMEs in the agriculture and construction sectors in applying simplified fairness and compliance mechanisms. The project also aims to reduce bureaucratic burden and increase transparency of business interaction with state institutions.
The implementation of the STIC project is aimed at reducing the risks of corruption, increasing trust between the public and private sector, and stimulating the transition of businesses from the shadow economy to the legal economy.
The project is implemented by a leading European consulting company based in Germany, GFA Consulting Group, with the support of the Swiss government, in partnership with the Moldovan authorities.
