According to the resource “Sportico” (USA), the projected growth of NBA revenues will be provided by the sale of rights to television and streaming broadcasts of league matches to broadcasters “The Walt Disney Company”, “NBC Universal” and the service “Amazon Prime”. The contracts, signed for 11 years, pay the NBA $76 billion, or nearly $7 billion per season. Each of the 30 franchises with clubs of the same name in the league can expect to receive $233 million a year. That amount is 155 times what each basketball franchise received from the sale of television rights in 1985.

As Logos Press previously reported, NBA revenue for the 2024/25 season was up 10 percent over the previous season and included revenue generated by non-league events at NBA teams’ venues. The Golden State Warriors franchise generated the most revenue, earning $833 million. The Memphis Grizzlies earned the least, adding $301 million to the franchise’s coffers.

All 30 franchises, whose clubs are represented in the basketball league, are valued at $160 billion. Over the year, this figure grew by 21%, and over four years – more than 100%. The growth dynamics have touched the NBA’s minimum threshold. The least wealthy franchise, the Memphis Grizzlies, went from $3 billion to $3.5 billion, or 17%, over the year.

The NBA season kicked off on October 21, with the regular season running through April 12, 2026. The final series will take place next June. “All-Star Game” of the league will be held on February 15, 2026 at the Los Angeles Clippers in Inglewood, California.

The Boston Celtics hold the league record for most titles, winning the NBA title 18 times. The Los Angeles Lakers have one less, significantly ahead of the Golden State Warriors, who have won the world’s leading basketball league seven times.
