
Manufacturing industry provided annual growth of 8.1% overall, energy industry (production and distribution of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning) – by 0.6%, extractive industry – by 0.3%, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. However, since the beginning of the year on an accrual basis, the gross series has increased by only 3%. Monthly dynamics of industrial production indices showed the highest value in May this year (111.7%).
According to the structure, according to the data, the manufacturing industry has the largest share in the total volume of industrial production (83.4% of the value of manufactured products). It is followed by “Production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning” (12.4%). Water distribution, sanitation, waste management, decontamination and extractive industries generate respectively 2.5% and 1.7% of the value of output in 2025.
The value of produced output in current prices in 2024 in the manufacturing industry is recorded by statistics at 71.7 billion lei (73.5 billion lei in 2023). Of this, in the food industry – 24.6 billion lei (in 2023 – 28.2 billion lei), or 28.6% of the total value of the produced goods.
Other economic activities that have a significant share in the creation of the value of the produced goods are the production of other non-metallic mineral products – 8.9% (produced goods worth 7.7 billion lei last year) and the production of beverages – 8.9% (7.6 billion lei).
Next are: production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – 8.4% (7.2 billion lei); production of metal structures and metal products, except machinery, equipment and installations – 3.6% (3.1 billion lei); manufacture of rubber and plastic products – 3.6% (3.1 billion lei); manufacture of furniture – 3.5% (3.0 billion lei); manufacture of clothing – 3.3% (2.8 billion lei); manufacture of textile products – 3.1% (2.6 billion lei); manufacture of chemicals and products – 2.8% (2.4 billion lei), etc. д.
