Petrocub coach fined for insulting a referee

Denis Romanenco, who holds the position of goalkeepers coach at Petrocub club, has been ordered by the disciplinary commission of the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) to pay a fine for unsportsmanlike behavior during the match with Sheriff, Logos Press reports.

During the match of the 19th round of the Super League Romanenko addressed to the head referee Andrei Kozhokar insulting remarks. For this, the coach was removed from the bench in the 89th minute of the match, which ended with a 4:2 victory for Petrocub. The specialist was fined 3,000 lei and disqualified for the next three matches involving his club.

“Petrocub was also fined 2 thousand lei for exceeding the allowed number of yellow cards. The players of the club from Hincesti received four warnings. Two more Superleague clubs were fined the same amount – Milsami for an identical offense during the match with Dacia-Buiucani (0:2) and Spartanii-Sportul, which was guilty in the meeting with Politehnica-UTM (1:2).

“Petrocub” leads the Superliga standings with two rounds to go before the end of the first phase. “Zimbru” and “Sheriff”, with four points less, follow the club from Hincesti. The reigning Moldovan champions Milsami occupy the fourth position, six points behind the leader.
