Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that the relations between the two states are based on the indissoluble bond of the inhabitants from both banks of the Prut river, noting Romania’s constant support on Moldova’s European path.
“Moldova and Romania have special relations based on the indissoluble bond between the inhabitants of both banks of the Prut. At the same time, Romania has always been by our side, giving us trust and support on our European path. We have a clear program for the next 10 years and a common commitment to translate the expectations of the citizens of both banks of the Prut into concrete results,” Munteanu said.
The Moldovan prime minister thanked Romania for the support provided in all directions, stressing the potential for increasing the number of bilateral projects in the economic, education and general infrastructure sectors.
He said that the Sculeni-Sculeni, Cahul-Oancea and Leuseni-Albita bridges will be modernized by 2027. Works on the Ungheni-Ungheni bridge are under way, and preparations for the construction of four more new bridges across the Prut River, which will strengthen the link between the two countries, are being accelerated: Costeşti-Stînca, Leova-Bumbeta, Leca-Falciu and Berboeni-Raducaneni.
The sides also emphasized the importance of energy connection projects. It was noted that the works on the 400 kV high-voltage transmission line from Vulcanesti-Chisinau will be completed by the end of this year, while two more connections are planned for the coming years: Balti-Suchava and Straseni-Gutinas.
