The first session of the new parliament will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 10:00. During the session, MPs will have to elect the governing and working bodies of the parliament, as well as start procedures to form a new government.
After consultations with the factions, the head of state nominates a candidate for the post of prime minister and appoints the government on the basis of a vote of confidence expressed to him by the parliament.
The PAS party, which has a majority in the legislative body, intends to nominate Alexandru Munteanu for the post of Prime Minister. He confirmed that he has agreed to take the post. He made the decision after a telephone conversation with President Maia Sandu.
