It should be noted that this year the government has updated the criteria for selecting the Grand Winner of the National Wine Day. Two new prizes have been introduced to reflect the diversity and dynamism of the industry: the Wine Creator Trophy for small producers, and the Distillate Creator Trophy for distillate and brandy producers who previously did not have a separate recognition category. In this way, the government seeks to recognize all participants in the wine sector, from large, well-known wineries to young entrepreneurs and divine producers.

This year, more than 100 wineries are participating in National Wine Day, including more than 40 small producers.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, last year Moldova produced a total of 16.6 million decaliters of wine. Wine wines worth 135.2 million dollars were exported. Almost half of the exports went to the EU countries. The three leaders in Moldovan wine shipments are Belarus, Romania and Georgia.
