The project covers an area of 18 hectares and will be realized in the municipality of Zimbreni.

Moldovan Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu emphasized the importance of such projects for strengthening the country’s energy independence from its own resources.

The Minister also confirmed the country’s plans to announce soon a second tender for the construction of renewable energy parks and energy storage systems.

According to an earlier government statement, the upcoming auction, scheduled for October, will include contracts for the construction of up to 173 MW of onshore wind farms and at least 44 MWh of energy storage systems.

Moldova currently has 784.09 MW of renewable power plants installed, including about 530 MW from 345 solar power plants and 7,252 requestumers.
