
According to a study by data analysis and visualization company HitHorizons, as of April 2025, based on revenue, the largest company in Moldova is Moldovagaz SA, with sales of almost 861 million euros. In second place is Moldretail Group SRL, with a turnover of 428 million euros. In third place is Floarea Soarelui SA, with 404 million euros.
Next in the top 7 are National Lottery of Moldova – 370 million euros, Agrofloris-Nord SRL (the company offers services for cleaning, drying and storage of grain and oilseeds) – 281 million euros, Petrom-Moldova SRL – 279 million euros and Termoelectrica SA – 241 million euros.
Two of the three largest companies in Moldova in terms of the number of employees are located on the Left Bank of the Nistru River: the textile factory Tirotex – 3000 employees and JSC Electromash, about 2900 employees (the company produces electric motors and heavy industrial equipment). In third position is Moldova-Agroindbank JSC, about 2,700 employees.
Then comes the Chisinau Bread Products Combine, with 2600 employees. MRP-Eurasia SRL has the same number of employees. The company is engaged in market research and public opinion polls, provides services for the countries of Eastern Europe, Asia and the former Soviet Union. The company also conducts sociological surveys and consumer research.
Moldretail Group SRL employs 2,500 people and Moldovan Steel Works employs 2,300.
According to the database created by HitHorizons specialists, there are more than 127,000 companies registered in the Republic of Moldova, and the sectors with the largest number of players are services (more than 41,000 companies), retail trade (23,000) and wholesale trade (19,000 companies).
Next come the goods manufacturing industry (13,000 companies), transportation, communication and energy (almost 9,500), agriculture, forestry and fishing (8,500), finance and real estate (8,300) and construction (4,600).
