The hosts of the meeting in Orhei imposed the game on their opponents from the first minute. Milsami striker Kabamba Tumba Kalabatama, a native of Zambia with Norwegian citizenship, opened the scoring in the first minute. In the second half, two other internationals – Ime Ndon and Michael Gopi Stephen – made the score 3-0.
In the final 20 minutes of the match Radu Ginsari and Aleksandar Antonyuk scored goals for Spartanii-Sportul. The loss with the score 0:5 practically leaves the club from Selemet village with no chance to reach the final of the Cup. Participation in the 1/2 finals of the tournament remains the biggest achievement in the history of this club.
In the other semi-final meeting Sheriff defeated Zimbru 2:1. Nigerian Wasps forward Rashid Akanbi scored a goal for the Bisons in the 5th minute, while his Armenian-born teammate Artur Serobyan increased the score 12 minutes later. Toward the end of the game, Zimbru managed to get one goal back – 19-year-old Michael Emmanuel Ebikabowei scored.
The return matches of the 1/2 finals of the Moldovan Cup will be held on May 14 on the fields of the clubs that played away in the first matches.
The winners of the two-match confrontations will meet in the Cup final, which will be held on May 24 at the Sheriff Stadium in Tiraspol.
