According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first quarter of 2025, 607 authorizations for construction were issued in the country, or 21.6% less than in the comparable period of 2024. 448 authorizations were issued for the construction of residential buildings (-17.2%), and 159 authorizations were issued for the construction of non-residential buildings (-32.3%).
Thus, the reduction in the number of erected buildings will be observed both in urban (-21.7%) and rural (-21.8%) areas.
In the regional context, in January-March 2025, the reduction of issued authorizations for the construction of residential buildings was observed: in Chisinau municipality by 59 authorizations (-25,9%), in the North region by 26 authorizations (-38,8%), in the South region by 8 authorizations (-20,0%), in the Center region by 3 documents (-1,8%).
Only in ATU Gagauzia were issued 3 more authorizations (+7.7%).
As for authorizations for non-residential buildings, in this period the reduction of issued documents was registered in the North region by 26 documents (- 38,8%), Center region by 20 authorizations (- 25,6%), South region by 18 (- 62,1%), Chisinau municipality by 11 authorizations (- 28,9%), in ATU Gagauzia by only 1 document (- 4,3).
