Its purpose is to strengthen the operation of the State Weapons Registry, an information system through which all procedures related to the registration of civilian firearms in the Republic of Moldova are managed, and through which citizens and businesses access public services digitally.
As part of this project, the Information Technology Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs will assume responsibility for the technical administration, maintenance, and development of the registry.
The changes will enhance the protection of data processed by the system, establish a clear framework for its development, and ensure the provision of modern electronic services to citizens and the business community.
Neither the government nor the Ministry of Internal Affairs has provided details on what changes will be made to the State Registry or how they will affect gun owners.
