The combined wealth of the world’s 500 richest people surged by a record $336 billion on June 15, reaching $13.3 trillion.

The agency notes that the world’s wealthiest individuals were able to increase their fortunes at the fastest daily rate on record thanks to “market enthusiasm” sparked by statements that the U.S. and Iran had reached a preliminary agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the rapid rise in the stock price of Elon Musk’s space company SpaceX, which has risen by about 50% since its record-breaking IPO.
