“Sheriff defeated CSF Bălți 4-1 on their home field in Tiraspol. By the 67th minute of the game, the Wasps brought the score to 4:1 thanks to the efforts of Luis Felipe, Vladimir Mamuchashvili and Alex Marušić, who made a double. The guests from the “northern capital” managed to get one goal back. In the 74th minute of the match, 18-year-old Vladislav Boyko, a pupil of the Balti soccer school, hit Viktor Straistar’s goal.
“Zimbru” in the capital inhospitable met “Saxan”, hitting the gates of the club from Ceadir-Lunga with three unanswered goals. Alexei Shebetun and Arquimides Ordonez scored for the Bisons. The Guatemalan legionnaire scored two goals against Pavel Sokolov, coming on as a substitute at the very beginning of the 2nd half. He scored one of the goals from the penalty spot in the 77th minute.
“Petrocub” in Hincesti hosted “Milsami” and in the course of the meeting lost the score after a goal by the Nigerian striker of the club from Orhei, Ime Ndon. In the 43rd minute Vyacheslav Posmak restored parity in the score, and two minutes later Theodor Lungu put Petrocub ahead. The score 2:1 in favor of the hosts remained unchanged on the scoreboard until the final whistle.
The only draw was recorded in Nisporeni, where the club “Spartanii-Sportul” hosted FCM Ungheni. The nominal hosts (the rural stadium “Spartanii-Sportul” in Selemete is not able to host matches of such a high level – author’s note) twice took the lead, then even conceded. But at the end of 90 minutes, the scoreboard showed 3:3. It is noteworthy that players from both clubs scored hat-tricks: 19-year-old Nicolae Rotaru for Spartanii-Sportul and 27-year-old Florin Cojocaru for FCM Ungheni scored three times.
The return matches of the 1/4 finals of the Moldovan Cup will be held on April 15 and 16 on the fields of the clubs that played away in the first matches.
The current Cup winner is Petrocub, which defeated Zimbru 3:1 in last year’s final.
