This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the meeting of the selection committee held on 4 September. The interview itself is scheduled for 11 September.

At present, Tatiana Catana is the representative (expert) from the Republic of Moldova to GRETA. She was elected by the Committee of the Parties to the Convention and serves a four-year term from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2026.

In accordance with the rules of the Council of Europe, GRETA members act in a personal (individual) capacity; they are independent and impartial experts and do not directly represent the instructions of their country’s government.

The next election of GRETA experts will take place on 27 November 2026 at the 39th session of the Committee of the Parties. On that day, 7 of the 15 GRETA members whose terms of office expire at the end of 2026 will stand for re-election. As the term of office of the current expert from Moldova, Tatiana Catana, runs until December 2026, this procedure will also affect the vacancy that may become available to Moldovan candidates.
