According to the National Crisis Management Center, an emergency preventive evacuation of all people there was carried out in the area of the Codru sanatorium in Hiržauk for safety reasons and to avoid tragic incidents.

By decision of the authorities, the villages of Hîrzauca, Myndra and Palanka were manually disconnected from the high-voltage power line (10 kV). This measure was taken to prevent electrocution in flooded areas.

In the past hours, the 112 Service has received at least five emergency calls. The work of rescuers is seriously complicated by high water levels and strong currents. There are reports of people trapped in cars, flooded households, citizens fleeing on rooftops, and calls for help near the river.

Crews from the Regional Directorate of Search and Rescue of the Inspectorate General of Emergency Situations and officers from the Inspectorate General of Police are on the scene.

By this hour, the rescuers managed to evacuate four people from the car, later the car itself was carried away by the current. Two more people who climbed on the roof of another car were successfully brought to safety. In addition, rescuers removed two people who had taken refuge from the water currents on a tree.

At the same time, dozens of calls to the 112 number were received from Ungheni district. There, the water flooded the roads and people were blocked right in their yards and houses.
