As an example, Mayor General Ion Ceban cited the commune of Bechoi, where three major projects were realized last year with the participation of the Chisinau Mayor’s Office. In particular, Dacia Street in Bechoi was reconstructed, a sidewalk was laid on Renascheteri Street in Breila village and the theoretical lyceum “Grigore Vieru” was overhauled. The total budget of these works amounted to over 16 million lei, of which over 10 million lei from the municipal budget. Among them are projects supported by the municipality at the request of the residents and local administration of the municipality.
Over the last five years, projects worth more than 33 million lei were implemented in Băcioi commune at the expense of the Chisinau municipal budget. These funds were used to build a kindergarten from scratch in Breila village, to reopen kindergarten No. 140 in Bechoi after decades of standstill, to renovate the infrastructure and to carry out repairs in other pre-school and school institutions. The road infrastructure and municipal public transportation were also upgraded.
In general, over 500 projects have been realized in the suburbs over the past five years with the support of the Chisinau City Hall. Investments from the municipal budget for their realization exceeded 1 billion lei.
