The corresponding object of expenditure is included in the Medium Term Budgetary Framework 2027-2029.

The package of essential health services will be approved by a decree of the Ministry of Health and health service providers will be selected on the basis of clear criteria. The Inspectorate General of Migration will enter into direct contracts with them to pay for the services provided. According to the proposed regulations, all asylum seekers on the territory of the Republic of Moldova will receive medical assistance through direct application to the relevant medical institutions.

Asylum seekers with special needs, in addition to primary and emergency medical care, will be entitled to basic treatment of diseases. At the same time, asylum-seeking children will benefit from medical services under the same conditions as children who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

Funding will be provided from the budget of the Ministry of Interior, while other sources, such as donations or grants, are also allowed. The normative act, developed on the basis of the Law on Asylum, should enter into force on January 1, 2027. The draft is currently at the stage of public consultation.
