The information was voiced during public consultations on the draft law on strengthening the regulatory framework in the field of urban planning.
“We are not talking about a simple violation. People paid not two lei, but tens of thousands of euros – honestly earned money – to fraudsters and criminals who allowed themselves to violate the law: they built with violations, in some cases even on the basis of court decisions, but bypassing normative acts, on projects that were not properly checked. When an object is registered in the cadastre that does not correspond to the project, on the basis of which the building permit was issued, and then apartments with inadequate cadastral data are illegally sold, the responsibility should be borne by the one who made the registration,” said Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vasile Bolea.
According to him, the ministry should do its job, and people should be sure that the housing is built legally and safely, without risking their lives in emergency situations:
“In Moldova, it should be like in Japan: in buildings 50 stories high, people do not run out during an earthquake. This is the real safety of construction. It is no longer about aesthetics or other secondary things”.
Vladimir Bolya also emphasized that conscientious developers should not depend on the interference of the ministry or the personality of its head. They should simply comply with the current legislation, which must be applied strictly and uniformly.
