This was stated by the president of the Transnistrian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Vasile Cojan, at a meeting in the Transnistrian government.
According to the news agency “Novosti Pridnestrovia”, the meeting was attended by heads of medium and small businesses, as well as individual entrepreneurs who are engaged in tailoring, agricultural production and processing.
There is no official information in Transnistria
The CCI president expressed concern about the impossibility to explain to business representatives the intentions of the Moldovan side, as no official information has been received in Transnistria.
“There are intentions from their side, but we are not clear about the mechanisms, volumes, percentages”, – indicated the general opinion of the business community Vasile Cojan.
Two weeks ago, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in tandem with the Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs sent a request for a meeting to the head of the EU delegation, Ivona Piorko, in order to disclose the possible consequences of these steps. However, there is still no response from European diplomats.
It should be recalled that the Moldovan parliament adopted in the first reading amendments to the legislation, according to which it is planned to collect excise and value added tax from Transnistrian enterprises.
In particular, natural gas supplies will be subject to VAT. On the left bank this is considered double taxation. This approach will hit the social sphere of Transnistria: it will lead to the shutdown of enterprises, decrease in employment and fall in incomes of the population.
