Transnistria is confidently integrating into the EU market

At the end of 2025, the share of imports from the European Union in the total imports of the Transnistrian region amounted to 48%, and exports to the EU market – 71% of the total volume of foreign economic activity.

The main directions of export to the European Union were Romania, Poland and Italy.

During the last year, the national authorities of the Republic of Moldova issued 3,894 certificates of origin of goods for economic entities from the left bank of the Nistru River, of which 2,099 confirmed the preferential origin of goods in trade with EU countries.

“The adaptation of logistic chains contributed to a noticeable reorientation of Transnistria’s trade towards the European Union, while strengthening economic ties between both banks of the Dniester and ensuring uniform application of standards and trade procedures throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova,” the Office of Reintegration Policy Bureau said in a statement.

The agency said that over the past four years, foreign trade operations through control points supervised by the Customs Service, using national authorization documents, have significantly contributed to the economic reintegration of the region.
