Moldova continues to have the lowest national income (GDP) per capita compared to the European average.
According to the information for the period 1990-2024 provided in the World Inequality Database, in 2024 the national income per capita in the Republic of Moldova was about 9000-10000 euros.
For comparison, in Romania in that year the per capita income exceeded 25000 euros, while the European average reached more than 34000 euros.
Different sources indicate different figures, but their order is approximately the same.
Thus, the projected per capita income (GDP per capita) in Moldova for 2025 varies, but estimates are in the range of about $8,200 (about 7,000 euros). Worldometer predicts $8239, the IMF about $8260. These figures are even lower than World Inequality Database data for 2024, but one thing is certain: Moldova remains an income country below the European average, and real incomes are often even lower due to inflation and a high share of low-paid jobs
