OTP Bank will receive 12 million euros for the GEFF program

OTP Bank Moldova became one of the first banks in the country to participate in the program GEFF (Green Economy Financing Facility) - Green Economy Financing Facility, initiated with the support of the European Union and Norway. This happened after the conclusion of a financing agreement for 12 million euros with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The agreement was signed by Daniel Bogdan Spuza, Chairman of the Executive Committee of OTP Bank Moldova, and Elena Guzun, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee, Commercial Director for Corporate Banking. This agreement highlighted the bank’s role in promoting sustainable investments and facilitating clients’ access to green finance aimed at energy modernization of housing.

Also during the event, Elena Guzun represented the bank in the panel discussion “The role of the financial sector in greening the housing sector”, organized under the auspices of Residential GEFF Moldova. She emphasized the important role of the banking sector in accelerating the energy transition by financing green projects, attracting private investments and supporting vulnerable households.

Through its strategic partnership with the EBRD, OTP Bank Moldova strengthens its role as a promoter of green finance and actively supports the achievement of energy efficiency and sustainable development goals in Moldova.
