
The reason for the increase in this indicator is due to additional budget amendments made during the year. Although initially the Budget Law for 2025 included a deficit of 13.9 billion lei, it was adjusted in the spring, according to which it increased by 4 billion lei (+29%) and now its adjusted amount is 17.1 billion lei, or 5.1% as a percentage of GDP.
On the whole, according to the Ministry of Finance, the income part of the state budget for the first six months of the year amounted to 36.7 million lei, while the expenditure part – 44.4 million lei. The growth of these two budget items compared to the same indicators of last year amounted to 17.6% and 18.2%, respectively.
The revenues administered by the State Tax Service increased by 12.6% compared to last year. The growth of revenues collected by the Customs Service is almost twice as low at 7.3%. Revenues from projects financed from external sources are lower than last year’s by almost 20%. At the same time, the amount of grants received during the analyzed period amounted to 2,796.8 million lei, while last year it was only 509 million lei.
As for the expenditures, the biggest increase also falls on the grants, in this case the grants given out. This year, they amounted to 1.5 billion lei, while last year it was only 446.5 million lei.
