Traditionally, the ceremony is held annually on July 1, the professional holiday of tax officials. This year, in addition, the State Tax Service celebrates 35 years since its establishment. Therefore, the awarding of honest taxpayers was combined with honoring the best specialists of the State Tax Service from all districts of the republic.
Head of the State Tax Service Olga Golban made an excursion into the history of the agency and noted the successes and challenges it faces today. She also expressed gratitude to the economic entities present at the festivities, which fulfill their tax obligations in time and in full, making a significant contribution to the formation of budget revenues. Thanks to them, kindergartens and hospitals are built in Moldova, salaries and pensions are paid, she said. They prove in practice the efficiency of the principle of voluntary compliance with the tax legislation, which is laid today in the basis of the work of the State Tax Service. And they show the other taxpayers an example of fiscal responsibility.
Note that competitions for the title of the best taxpayers have been held since 2013. The winners are selected on the basis of strict criteria prescribed in the legislation and are exempted from tax audits for two years.
