Social service providers ignore energy efficiency

This is one of the conclusions of a sociological survey conducted by Keystone Moldova among organizations providing social services to the population. Moreover, only 44% of respondents know what energy efficiency is. In most cases, this knowledge is related to visible aspects of the house – such as insulation, the condition of electrical installations and the cost of bills. Another 36% are partially familiar with the concept and 20% have never heard of the concept.

The survey was conducted as part of the EU-funded project ‘Local Partnerships for Energy Efficiency in Social Services’. The project, which runs for 36 months (February 2024-February 2027), provides grants of around €87,000 to each of the 35 beneficiary organizations and aims to improve the quality of social services for more than 2,000 people. It also promotes the sustainable use of energy resources in communities.
