The protests of the residents are ignored by the Mayor’s Office, Ryshkanivka pretura and the Inspectorate for Technical Supervision in Construction. Residents expressed their indignation at the inaction of the authorities at a press conference held on April 10, reports.

The company “Tophome Construct”, established in March last year, received all the permits from the City Hall for the construction of a multi-storey building with underground parking on Zimbrului Street a month later,” said Valeriy Ostalep (former deputy foreign minister, who lives in the area). – The construction is planned on a relatively small plot of municipal land. The problem is that there is no access to it, as it is surrounded by private houses”.

This land has been the subject of controversy for many years. The family that owns the land immediately adjacent to this plot has been unable to obtain the right to privatize it for 13 years. And an unknown construction company has been granted permits at an astonishing rate.

According to Ostalep, this land (900 square meters) is public property. The plot may be worth 2 million euros, as land in this area is sold for 2-3 thousand euros per square meter. m. But its fate should be decided by the municipal council. Either to put it up for auction, or to allow privatization as an adjacent plot to the nearest buildings. Instead, the official documents state in small handwriting that the land is allocated temporarily, and after 9 months it is supposedly to be returned.

Last August representatives of the construction company demolished the fence of a private property without any documents and in violation of the legal procedure. However, appeals to the police and the Praetura regarding the company’s arbitrariness remained without results.

“In addition, the construction is being carried out in a place where it is physically impossible to pass. How can 100 more cars be allowed to stay there? In order to provide access, the park will have to be destroyed. In confirmation of our fears, the felling of trees has already started,” says Valery Ostalep.

He said that the Anti-Corruption Center is currently investigating the situation around the construction site.
