Loans to farmers under IFAD projects will become more affordable

The interest rate on loans provided to micro- and small agricultural enterprises under IFAD programs in Moldova has been reduced to 7.9%.

As noted in a statement from IFAD’s UCIP Consolidated Implementation Unit, the new lending terms are designed to expand access to financing for investment projects and provide greater flexibility for small-scale entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector.

The IFAD UCIP team specifically notes that, in addition to reduced interest rates on loans under IFAD programs, participation in these programs is also beneficial to potential beneficiaries due to limited fees,  VAT exemptions, and customs benefits for the import of goods and services under these programs.
