IT park social contributions rose by 29.9%

The National Social Insurance Fund closed the quarter with a surplus of 1,237.0 million lei. A similar situation was observed last year.

According to the operational report of the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS), for the first 3 months of 2026, revenues collected amounted to MDL 14,385.9 million. This is 28.0% of the annual plan or 3% more.

In general, the contributions did not reach the plan

Of this amount, mandatory contributions amounted to 7,017.2 million lei, or 22.4% of the plan, i.e. 2.6% less. At the same time, this is by 608.8 million lei (9.5%) more than the amount accumulated during the same period last year.

Other revenues reached 246.1 million lei, of which the sum of 243.8 million lei is due to the single tax levied on residents of information technology parks. It increased by 29.9% compared to the previous year.

Transfers from the state budget exceeded 7 billion lei

Transfers from the state budget amounted to 7122.6 million lei, according to the applications for financing. Of these, 4667.6 million lei will be used for social allowances and other payments, while 2455.0 million lei will be used to cover the deficit of the social insurance budget’s own revenues.

At the same time, the total expenditures were executed in the amount of 13148.9 million lei, or 25.6 percent of the annual plan. As compared to the same period last year, they increased by 767.6 million lei, or by 6.2%.

As a result, the execution of the state social insurance budget in the first quarter of 2026 ended with an excess of revenues over expenditures by 1,237.0 million lei.

The cash balance on CNAS accounts as of April 1, 2026 amounted to 1,236.8 million lei.
